How to Get 2012 Off to a Good Start With the Right Office Supplies

January is a time when many of us decide to restock our office supplies. This way we are getting the year off to a good start; ensuring that we have enough stationery items going forward for the first few months of 2012. The New Year is a good time to make the resolution to improve upon past performances. Most of us will be able to find better ways of organising our office supplies; this is because so many of us either waste money by paying too much or ordering things we do not really need.

Tips for Ordering Your Office Supplies in 2012

Here are just a few suggestions for how you can improve things in regards to office supplies in 2012:

Now is a good time to evaluate your current situation with office supplies. You might want to evaluate your experiences in 2011. Did you always have enough stationery? Do you have items in your store cupboard that never get used? Do you feel that you got a good deal on these items throughout the year? Are you paying more now than you were at the beginning of 2011? If you are paying more than what is the reason for this?

If you have stuck with the same supplier for a number of years then this might be a good time to consider other options. Things change rapidly in the world of stationery and just because a supplier offered a good deal a couple of years ago does not mean that this is still the case. You will certainly want to consider a number of other options to make sure that you are not paying too much.

When it comes to comparing the value for money give by different suppliers you can easily be misled if you are not savvy in your approach. Just because a supplier offers a good deal on a couple of items does not mean that they offer a good deal overall. The best approach is to compare suppliers using a basket of the most common supplies that you buy. This type of comparison will take slightly longer to do but the results you will get will be far more reliable.

If you have not already done so it is best if you can appoint one member of your team to take charge of ordering your supplies. If everyone just orders as they see fit it can lead to a great deal of waste.
